Simon Hollósy, Hungary, (1857-1918) Simon Hollósy was a Hungarian oil painter and educator. Born in 1857 in Malta, Hungary (today's Romanian Malma Yii Vision). His parents were Armenian and later emigrated to Malta. Horkosi showed talent and a keen interest in art from an early age. As a young man, he went to study in Munich, where he opened a private school with students from Hungary, Poland, Russia, Switzerland and other countries. There he taught free classes, attracting young talents interested in realism. He relied on his own personality and French painters such as Gustave Courbet to pave the way for a new style in the city. He abandoned the academic style to follow new trends in French painting, including Impressionism. He is more important as a teacher than a painter. His massive plans for the Kirby's march, while constantly changing his mind, never progressed beyond the sketches. The landscapes he depicted in "Santa Claus" included the landscape from "Santa Claus", the landscape with chimneys, and the sunset with chimneys, in which he used elements of air and Impressionism. His Self-Portrait (1916), held by the Hungarian National Gallery, is considered one of his most harrowing pictures. From 1896 to 1901 he worked in the artistic group founded by Naderbani, which was of great significance to the development of Hungarian painting. He mainly paints genre paintings and landscape paintings, and his works focus on the breath of life and taste, giving people an intimate feeling.
