Do these 6 "try your best", the photos you take will not be too ugly at least
People always ask me: "Teacher, how can I improve my photography skills quickly." My answer is usually: "See more and shoot more." These four words seem perfunctory, but they are true. After all, photography, to put it bluntly, is not a technical activity, but a quality. Technical jobs can rely on some regular things to get started quickly. But the improvement of aesthetics, sometimes, requires talent. If the talent is not enough, it can only be deposited by the accumulation of experience. There is no other way. Of course, there are still some common aesthetic issues. If you notice them, it will be helpful for the shaping of photos. It may not get you as good a photo as it is, but at least, not too bad. So, if you are a "beginner beginner in photography" (please look at this definition). Then, follow what I said below, and you will find that the photos will look much better. 01 Try to use vertical composition as much as possible. I once wrote a post about the difference between vertical composition and horizontal composition. I won’t repeat the argument in the middle, but only the conclusion: horizontal composition is more difficult to shoot than vertical composition. After all, the scenery around the subject is more likely to make the photo appear cluttered than the clean sky and the earth. So, if you shoot a photo with a horizontal composition, it feels unsatisfactory and a little messy. Then, you might as well consider trying to take a picture with a vertical composition, and see if it will be much better. 02Try to use the telephoto as much as possible to say more mistakes, and more shots will also make more mistakes. For people who don’t know how to compose pictures, the easiest way to do it or to say it is opportunistic is to use more telephoto, less redundant objects, less line distortion, and the picture will naturally be much simpler. If you look at it in combination with the previous one, for most scenes, using a wide-angle horizontal composition is definitely not as good as a vertical composition using a telephoto. 03 Try to squat and take pictures. If there are people around you who love to take pictures and can take pictures, then you can observe his photo-taking posture. I am sure that many times, they take pictures while squatting. Especially when there is someone in the picture as the subject, if you squat down to take a photo, the subject will stand out more, the space above will be larger, and the picture will have more depth. 04 Try to put it in the lower right corner if you don't know where the subject is when taking the photo. From the probability analysis, put it on the right, and put it in the lower right corner, maybe the photo will look better. This is mainly because the visual order of my observation photos is usually left to right and top to bottom. Then, placing the subject in the lower right position allows people to better capture the entire photo, and the overallity of the photo is stronger. 05 Trying to have color contrast is the most basic means to shape the story and artistic expression of photos. Therefore, no matter what you shoot, if you want to have something to say, comparison is indispensable. And color contrast is the easiest part of it. In a relatively overall environment, find a prominent contrasting color and shoot it, and the photos are generally not bad. 06 Try to cut as much as possible. Many people say that I will not be able to post, it doesn't matter, you can always cut. 99% of the problems with the phone can be solved by restarting. 99% of the problems with photos can be solved by cropping. For the photos you like, don't make a hair tie after taking them, cut them out, and take only one scoop of weak water. As I said just now, take less pictures and make mistakes, and tailoring is a step closer to this theory.
