Park Reconstruction Design: "Replacing the Old with the New"

When the times are moving towards urbanization at an incredible speed, when technological innovation and the development of the market environment are rapidly advancing, old things will inevitably be left behind. Such as traditional industries, outdated technologies, and old campuses that have undergone urban transformation. The old parks scattered in every corner of the city are like old people who are dying, witnessing the development of the city and the birth of all new things, and then coming to an end in the wave of the times. However, the abandonment of the old park will result in a huge waste of resources, which is not in line with the conservation and intensification advocated by urban land in the new era, nor in line with the needs of market operation and development. As a result, the designers took over the renovation and design of the old parks. Under the skillful hands of the designers, the old towns have been "traded in for new", precious land resources have been utilized to the greatest extent, and the urban landscape has also been transformed into a new look in the park. Before the designer transforms the park, he will first start with the entire urban planning. For example, this project in Guangzhou. Guangzhou, as the forerunner of reform and opening up, has faced problems such as traffic, environmental pollution and land after more than 30 years of economic development. The reformers tried to create new industrial outlets, turning the park into a high-tech Internet-integrated start-up park. The designer believed that the original factory space lacked public space, and the first step in the renovation was to put in the public space, so that the overly large building could breathe. At the same time, the natural environment can adjust the psychological pressure of the staff's intense work, so the designer has planned several beautiful courtyards. These courtyards are not only public spaces, but also allow employees to get close to nature and relax. The renovated park is separated from the original outdated facilities and buildings, can carry the access of high-tech industries, and smoothly integrate into the wave of urban modernization. During the renovation of the park, the original building space facilities can also be properly retained and upgraded according to the actual situation, so as to save resources to the greatest extent. For example, this park, originally a decaying traditional manufacturing park, is expected to develop into an office park dominated by digital industries after positioning adjustment. However, the time and cost are limited, so it is necessary to design a brand-new and light park image through spatial integration without demolishing the original buildings. Through site integration, façade design and space organization, the designer adopts the façade and facility design of unified materials and colors to create a unified and smooth landscape and architectural environment in the park without changing the main body of the building. throughout the entire project design. In the project renovation process, the designer explored a short-cycle, low-cost, and effective use of the old industrial park renovation method. On the basis of retaining and making full use of the original building space, by sorting out and rebuilding the relationship between the site, discovering the spatial strategy derived from the site itself, so as to build a digital industry incubator park integrating talents, creativity and technology, and reactivate the old park . Parks are important carriers and components of industrial clusters, and have always played an important bearing role in the construction of a modern economic system. The traditional parks that have been eliminated by the times will cause great waste of land and resources. Therefore, the transformation of the park is the only way for the new urbanization process. According to the characteristics of different old parks, urban development, and new park planning, various forms of park renovation and design upgrades are carried out, and the "old for new" urban style is the only way for future urban development.
