How do I fix the photo after taking it? The ideas and skills are all here, a mobile phone can do it all

Today, I will continue to talk about the post-production of mobile phone photography. Let me talk about my post-production ideas first, and then share some of my post-production ideas and related image editing skills through a case. The two software I use are snapseed and MIX. Regarding the later stage of the photo, my attitude is to agree with it. After all, photography is not just a record, but also the author's artistic expression. As for the extent to which it can be repaired, I think it mainly depends on the purpose of the photo. If it is news or documentary photography, adjust the exposure appropriately, add some sharpening or crop it, these are all allowed. But you must not do pixel movement, that is, you can't deduct some elements in the original film, and you can't add elements that are not in the original film. Including the color can not have too much adjustment. As for photos for other purposes, I can basically accept them to any degree of post-editing, or at least not reject them. This is just like the ladies who pursue beauty, they can use light makeup or heavy makeup, and even cosmetic surgery is understandable. Some photography competitions also have a special category for artistic creation, and those exaggerated post-style works are classified separately for selection. I think this approach is very good. It not only ensures the fairness of the contestants, but also reflects the tolerance of the organizers of the competition to the arts. Next, I will take the above picture as an example to share my retouching ideas and related skills. The left side of the above image is the original image, and the right side is the adjusted effect. Let's first look at the original image, we must first find out some problems in the original image, and then make targeted adjustments. I think there are three main problems with this photo. First of all, the light in the picture is relatively ordinary, the weather was cloudy and cloudy at that time, the three-dimensional effect of the picture was insufficient, and the sky also lacked a sense of hierarchy. In addition, the whole photo is a little tilted to the left, and due to the low-angle shooting, coupled with the wide-angle lens of the mobile phone, the buildings on both sides are tilted to the middle. Furthermore, because it was an older mobile phone and did not have an ultra-wide-angle lens, the shooting range was limited, and there was not enough space at the top of the tallest building in the distance, which made the overall look a bit depressing. Below I will demonstrate the specific editing steps.

snapseed

In snapseed, I used five tools: Expand, Perspective, Crop, Adjust Image, and Highlight Details. Below I Make a presentation in detail. 1. Expand Click "Tools" and select "Expand". Press the upper edge of the picture with your finger and push it upward, and a part of the space will be expanded above. After releasing your finger, this part of the space will be intelligently filled by the pixels of the surrounding sky. The software defaults to the "smart coloring" mode, click the square icon below and there are "black" and "white" options. This is suitable for the "smart coloring" mode. Then click "√" to confirm. 2. Perspective Select "Perspective" from "Tools", find "Rotate" in it, press and hold the photo with your finger and move it laterally to ensure that the center building is straight. Then select "Tilt", hold the photo and slide down until the buildings on both sides are horizontal and vertical. Click "√" to confirm. 3. Crop Next, select the "Crop" tool, select a 3:2 ratio, crop the photo, and click "√" to confirm. Because the main lotus is located to the left, the tallest building is placed a little to the right in the center to make the overall effect more balanced. 4. Adjust the picture Open the "Adjust Picture" tool, swipe up and down to find "Atmosphere", swipe to the right to add some appropriately, and click "√" to confirm. 5. Select "Highlight Details" for highlighting details, slide up and down to see two parameters of "Structure" and "Sharpening", add some appropriately, and then click "√" to confirm. At this point, the adjustment in snapseed is complete, and you can export it.

MIX

Open MIX, click "Edit Photo", select the photo exported by snapseed, and click "Magic Sky". Just choose an appropriate sky effect. The slider below can adjust the degree of the filter, and the eraser on the right can erase the excess filter part. When satisfied, click "√" in the upper right corner, and then click the download icon, and the repaired photos will be stored in the photo collection of the phone. The above interface is the Apple version, and the functions of the Android version are basically the same, but there will be some differences in the layout of the tools between the two versions. In addition, this is the paid version of MIX, the filter effect of the free version is relatively less, and other functions are available. The post about this photo is shared.
