More complete live courses can be viewed on the official website of Hummingbird.com/Weibo During the journey, video is the most direct way to understand regional culture and life. Of course, we can record the anecdotes during the journey through the cameras in our hands, which may be the meaning of travel photography. As for how to record the stories of travel and discover the truest state of each destination, patient exploration and solid photography skills are required to maximize the interpretation of the meaning of travel. Come and listen to the experience sharing brought by the guest lecturer @photographer Pinky in this course! ·Hummingbird.com: Does it have any unique requirements for photographic equipment in terms of travel photography? Photographer Pinky: Before traveling and shooting, I always do some homework, such as where I will go and what scenes I will shoot. Combined with my own situation, I will choose the photographic equipment I carry based on these factors. In fact, carrying photographic equipment during travel is a very physical thing, especially if I am relatively small, lightweight equipment is my first choice. I usually bring a wide-angle zoom lens and a large-aperture prime lens for basic travel needs. I have been using Canon cameras since 2005, from the classic EOS 5D series to today's EOS R series, and the Canon EOS R5 is currently my first choice. It caters to all my travel photography needs as well as all my commercial shoots. It is not only small and very portable, especially its image quality is excellent, whether it is the performance of details or color, it can meet my various needs. Combined with the powerful and rich RF lens group, the anti-shake performance is very good, which is very practical. The lenses I am currently using include, RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM, RF50mm F1.8 STM, RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM, RF16mm F2.8 STM and RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM . ·Hummingbird.com: For travel photography, what are the important factors and shooting ideas? What creative "cheats" do you have to share with us? Photographer Pinky: First of all, let me share with you what travel photography is, why not call it landscape photography or something else? Landscape photography is the form of traveling to shoot large scenery, while travel photography is mainly travel. Photography is a way to record travel, and its content is relatively wide, covering scenery, architecture, portraits, ecology, food and so on. This is quite a test of the performance and quality of the camera. Photographer Pinky: A few important points in travel photography, first of all to find the most suitable season for this location. The high season must be expensive because it is the most beautiful season in this place and the most suitable time for travel. For example, there will be no rain, some season-specific scenery or animals, etc. The second is the light. In the early morning and evening, the light is the softest, and the color temperature is also super beautiful. Third, plan the shooting content in advance, and have a general understanding of the travel content of the day and the shooting scenes that will be involved. If you need to shoot a video, you must write a script in advance, otherwise there may be omissions. Finally, know your camera and equipment, and know the basic parameters to use the scene. It is best to be proficient in operating the camera in your hand. There will be many emergencies in travel photography, and you need to respond quickly and take pictures. For example, the new functions of some new models of cameras, the settings of shortcut keys, and so on. Proficiently know what kind of parameters to shoot under what light conditions, and also know how to quickly adjust to solve the current shooting problems. Photographer Pinky: You also need to master some composition skills during shooting. Try some angles, and you may be able to shoot unexpected results. Secondly, observe the light more and smooth the light, which is more suitable for explaining the real color and shape, but it is easy to make the subject lack hierarchy and three-dimensional sense. Side light, with obvious shadows, is more suitable for shooting buildings. Backlight, highlight the atmosphere, you can increase the brightness to take small and fresh photos, and you can also shoot silhouette effects. ·Hummingbird.com: In Canon's RF lens group, what other lightweight and cost-effective travel photography lens options are there? Photographer Pinky: For travel photography, the RF50mm F1.8 STM is a very small, large-aperture lens. It doesn't feel much in the pocket, it is very light, and it can be easily held after being installed on the EOS R5/R6 body. One of the big three, the RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lens, has a very good performance in long-distance composition, and it is also a very good option for shooting portraits. It is a multi-functional lens. The RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM has made many breakthroughs in terms of viewing angle, image quality and volume. It is very suitable when shooting impactful buildings. At the same time, it has a focal length of 35mm. Good choice. The RF16mm F2.8 STM is also very good, it weighs only 165 grams, and the filter diameter is only 43mm. Whether it is the wide focal length of 16mm, the large aperture of F2.8, and the good price/performance ratio, this small and ordinary lens has many more aspects worth playing with. The RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM is an ultra-telephoto lens suitable for shooting long-distance and ultra-long-distance pictures. It has excellent performance in focusing performance and anti-shake performance. ·Written at the end: In this course, @photographer Pinky shared with us what travel photography is and what needs to be paid attention to for travel photography, including composition skills and what different focal length lenses will bring. screen etc. For photographers who pursue top image quality, Canon RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM, RF50mm F1.8 STM, RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM lenses cover the focal lengths required for travel photography, bringing reliable reliability and picture quality. In addition, the RF16mm F2.8 STM is also very good, an all-round small steel gun, and the price is excellent; the RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM is an ultra-telephoto lens, suitable for shooting long-distance and ultra-long-distance pictures. Performance and anti-shake performance have very good performance. I hope that through the experience sharing of @photographer Pinky, these RF lenses will help you easily shoot your own travel photography.
